Computer power supply for car audio system
This is basically just a preliminary thing and I wanted to ask about the older power supply units with two motherboard connection (PS1 and PS2) and the separate, manual power switch. I just grabbed an old head unit real quick just to test the whole thing out. I also tour around the barn theater a little bit. I have a 10 foot diagonal projection screen and the true surround sound setup with power amps for each channel; even a pro audio mono PE-60 for the center channel. Marantz 2235 front, Realistic STA-240 surround, Nikko TRM-800 subs. Many watts.

i just use a car battery charger for my 12 volt dc power needs in the home, lol…and the battery charger i have has an engine start feature where i can switch it over to 60 amps for when i want to power some subs in my house lol…at the beginning of october me and my bro had a party for our 21st birthday and we had a 15″ RE in my apartment, lol we could barely turn it up before it was rattling the knocker on our door and the windows lol

Well the smallest of the three amps I intend to power has a 60 amp fuse so that won’t do for me!! lol just wait.
Them old PSU’s are going to be shit only 1-2 amps at 12v. The best way is like
irishpimp1001 said a battery charger, you can get a 100A one on ebay quite cheap.
12 to 24 watts; are you kidding me? And I have about 25 power supplies.
I don’t think there going to like being connected together.
Most of the watts in a PSU goes to the other voltages like my old 70 watt one that has
5V 6A =30watts
12v 2A =24watts
3.3v 4A =13.2watts

ALL aftermarket head units say what each wire does. only stock one’s don’t but they suck anyway; use an aftermarket. and DO NOT go by a websites wiring diagrams. They were WRONG about my ford head unit; they did not even have the right colors. the 12volt was wrong
