How many watts of my 450 watt power supply do the internal parts use?
Can anyone tell me how much power the internal parts of a computer use. For example, a case fan might use 5 watts, a hard drive may use 20, etc. I read an article before that listed EVERY single internal computer part and approximately how much power they all used in watts. and I cant seem to find anything on the net that might be something like that.

Here’s a link I have bookmarked. It’s an online power supply calculator..

It depends on the make and model of the parts.
For example, I would expect an nVidia GeForce 6800 to draw a LOT more power than an ATI Radeon 9200.
the most power on a computer is eaten by the cpu and the video card (powerfull ones). When you chooz a power supply you must consider the cpu and the video adapter. secondly a device it takes the power it needs , not the power you suply. so don`t worry a much powerfull suply does not mean you consumm more power, beacuase the power suply it automaticaly adjusts its output to your computer needs.a normal computer in normall usage it eats about 150-200 watts on avarage.
